The Book of Matthew is the first book of the New Testament for a good reason… it demonstrates why the kingdom promised to Israel in the Old Testament was not granted at the time of the first coming of Christ, explains the reason for the existence of the predominantly Gentile church, and then closes with the Great Commission. Matthew’s presentation of the life of Christ is unique among the four gospels and offers a view of His ministry that is not found in the others.

(Pastor’s Note on Chapter 7: I have been teaching Adult Sunday School classes for 30 years. This is the first time that I have ever felt the need to publicly reprimand someone. The woman in question had been attending our church for about four months and joined, knowing what our church believes and teaches about salvation. She was dishonest in her answers in order to join and promptly began attempting to undermine the teaching of PBC behind the scenes. After I confronted her about the false beliefs and false preachers she was promoting, she (apparently) made a false apology and then resumed her behaviour. The subject about which she is reprimanded for arguing in SS in this recording is an unrelated subject on which she had already been corrected in private on another occasion. She is now the subject of church discipline.)
